Cavite successfully facilitated the 3rd Provincial PESO Congress

The Provincial Government of Cavite, through the Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment and Cavite PESO Managers’ Association Inc., successful conducted the 3rd Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Congress held on June 22, 2026 at the New Provincial Government Center, bringing together PESO managers, job placement officers, and stakeholders committed to “Transforming Labor Market Data into Employment Opportunities” in the province.

The event commenced with welcome remarks from Ms. Rizalie Pinpin-Enero, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to PESO managers and job placement officers for their vital role in advancing workforce initiatives in Cavite. In addition, she underscored the importance of collaboration in maintaining a competitive workforce that meets the modern economy’s demand.

“We are no longer just collectors of registries and figures… Every data point we collect represents Caviteño looking for a break. Every vacancy we log is a family we can support… Let us ensure that our data translates directly to food on the table and dignifies livelihoods across Cavite.” Ms. Pinpin stated.

Following, Atty. Erwin Aquino, Regional Director of DOLE IV-A, lauded everyone who took part in successfully implementing employment initiatives, projects and services across the region and for bringing it closer to the people, “We are humbled by your enthusiasm and commitment to serve the general public and we should endeavor to be a true and upright public servant to all.” he remarked. Atty. Aquino, then, aspire to continue partnership with everyone in the future. In addition, Ms. Marivic Martinez, Provincial Director of DOLE-Cavite, assured everyone of their continued guidance and assistance.

Likewise, 4th District Board Member Nickanor Austria Jr. and 6th District Board Member Maurito Sison congratulated the participants for their significant contribution to the province’s growth and emphasized that the Provincial Government of Cavite is in solidarity with the sector in providing assistance and support for its endeavors.

Dr. Abraham De Castro, Bacoor City PESO Manager, metaphorically stated that PESO is love, saying “Bakit po peso is love? Kasi po kapag ang isang pamilya po, ang kanyang tatay ang kanyang ina ay may trabaho, nakakapagdala po sila ng pagkain sa kanilang hapag kainan. Sila po ay busog. Sila po ay may pagmamahal. Mas maganda po ang laban na ibibigay nila para mas makapagbigay ng mas magandang bukas sa kanilang anak.” Dr. Castro also stated the PESO’s commitment to not only give employment, but also to foster love and support to the people.

The event was also graced with the presence of Governor Francisco Gabriel Remulla. Governor Remulla delivered an inspirational message, stressing the essence of transforming labor market data into employment opportunities for the economy to thrive. The honorable also recognized the collective efforts of the PESO Managers and Officers in building connections between the job seekers and labor market.

“As we move forward, let us remain committed in ensuring that every worker has equal access to employment opportunities and every employer can find the right personnel needed for our labor economy to thrive.” he said.

As the Governor concluded his message, he urged everyone to continue to work together to build a more accessible opportunities for everyone, and a productive and progressive Cavite province.

As the event dive into the learning session, Ms. Jennylyn Jucutan, Economic Development Specialist of the Department of Economy, Planning and Development, and Mr. Edwin Tolentino, PESO Manager of the City of Carmona gave an insightful presentation.

The highlight of the congress was the awarding of certificates and plaques for the following categories:

(1) Provincial Best PESO Awards for 1st Class City awarded to the City of Bacoor, 2nd Class City awarded to the City of Carmona, and 2nd Class Municipality awarded to the Municipality of Amadeo;

(2) Provincial Best Public Employment Service Office – Job Placement Office Category awarded to Lyceum of the Philippines-Cavite and De La Salle University-Cavite;

(3) Recognition of the Partners and Contributors of the 25th National PESO Congress – Governor Francisco Gabriel Remulla; Mayor Denver Chua; Mayor Davey Chua; Mayor Jennifer Barzaga; Mayor Dahlia Loyola; 5th District Representative Roy Loyola; Mayor Alex Advincula; Mayor Brent Tolentino; Mayor Archangelo Matro; Mayor Strike Revilla; Mayor Rommel Magbitang; Mayor Lawrence Arca; Mayor Medardo Custodio; and Mayor Luis Ferrer.

As the event concluded, the Cavite PESO Managers’ Association Inc. had their quarterly meeting to discussed their upcoming and future activities. — OPIO
