In celebration of World Population Day, the Office of the Provincial Population Officer (OPPO) spearheaded the Stakeholders’ Forum on Emerging Local Population Issues, in line with this year’s global theme: “Empowering Young People to Create the Families they want in a fair and hopeful world”, on July 11, 2025 at the Cavite Collaboration Center for Public Health, Trece Martires City.
Kicking off the forum, Ms. Eloisa L. Comia, OPPO Officer-in-Charge, delivered a warm welcome message that laid the foundation for a day of thoughtful discussions.

Regional Director Marilyn F. Ogaya of the Commission on Population and Development-CALABARZON served as the keynote speaker during the forum. She shared information on Filipino youth and emphasized the key concerns such as adolescent health and development and highlighted the Commission’s ongoing programs aimed at supporting young people.
Participants then engaged in focused group discussions, wherein they tackled urgent youth issues, particularly early pregnancy and the increasing number of HIV cases.
The forum concluded with a collective show of support for youth-focused initiatives, highlighting the vital role of collaboration in helping Caviteño adolescents become knowledgeable, safe, and empowered individuals. (R. Tanael)
