On October 16, 2024, the Department of Labor and Employment in coordination with the Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager successfully conducted the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantage/Displaced Workers payout for the 1,000 qualified beneficiaries in the municipality of Ternate who have completed the required work under the program. The beneficiaries received wages amounting to Php 5,200.00 for the work they have rendered in sustaining the cleanliness and beauty of the surroundings.
Mayor Lamberto Bambao genuinely welcomed everyone, imparting the significance of the program in providing temporary employment opportunities to their constituents, especially those in the marginalized area. “Nagpapasalamat po kami nang todo sa lahat po ng tumutulong sa amin”, he said.
Along with Mayor Bambao were 8th District Board Member Reyniel Ambion, Ternate Sangguniang Bayan members, and OPPESM Head, Ms. Rizalie Pinpin-Enero.
TUPAD program provides short-term employment to displaced workers, underemployed, or unemployed individuals to ease their financial constraints due to natural calamities, economic crisis, or other similar causes. (J. Reyes)
