Tagaytay City – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. continued his visit to disaster-stricken areas, bringing relief to Cavite province on November 14, 2024. The President personally led the distribution of financial aid under the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families Program, as well as additional welfare services, aimed at supporting residents in their recovery from the devastation caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
A total of 4,233 beneficiaries from 21 cities and municipalities across Cavite received Php 10,000 each in cash assistance. The aid is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to provide immediate support to those hardest hits by the storm, helping them rebuild their lives.
Upon his arrival at the Sigtuna Hall of the Tagaytay International Convention Center, President Marcos was warmly welcomed by Cavite Governor Athena Bryana Tolentino, 8th District Representative Aniela Bianca Tolentino, and Senator Francis Tolentino.
The governor expressed her gratitude to President Marcos for always reaching out and extending help to Caviteños. Senator Tolentino expressed his solidarity with the people and reaffirmed his support for the national government’s coordinated response to the needs of affected communities.
Cavite local officials in attendance included Vice Governor Shernan Jaro, 3rd District Representative AJ Advincula, 7th District Representative Ping Remulla and, AGIMAT Partylist Representative Bryan Revilla, Board Members, and other LGU officials.
Accompanying the President were key Cabinet officials, including Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary and former Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla, Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian, and Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel. They were joined by representatives from various government agencies, all of whom played an integral role in delivering essential services and assistance to the beneficiaries.
President Marcos reiterated his directive to key agencies to fortify systems and strategies to ensure the safety of the people. He called on LGUs to enhance preparedness measures to prevent the catastrophic impacts of future calamities. He urged everyone to keep the faith and stay united, stating, “Sama-sama nating itaguyod ang isang maunlad at nagkakaisang Bagong Pilipinas, kung saan walang Pilipino ang iiwan sa oras ng pangangailangan.”
The distribution of aid is part of a broader national government initiative to help the people of Cavite recover and regain their footing after the widespread damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
