The Office of the Provincial Cooperatives and Development Officer (OPCDO) marked another milestone in its continuous support for Caviteño entrepreneurs with the awarding of starter kits to the beneficiaries of the Product Development Program (PDP) and the One Town, One Product (OTOP) program on September 30, 2025, at the Upper Ground Function Hall of the New Provincial Government Center, Trece Martires City.
A total of 38 trainees were recognized during the program, composed of 18 PDP trainees and 20 OTOP trainees, who each received starter kits designed to help them put their newly acquired skills into practice and jumpstart their business ventures. The activity highlighted the Provincial Government’s commitment to fostering sustainable livelihood opportunities and nurturing small enterprises as engines of local economic growth.
In her message, Ms. Myrachel P. Cuadra, OIC – OPCDO, encouraged the beneficiaries to maximize the use of the starter kits as tools in transforming their learnings into sustainable income-generating activities. She emphasized the importance of perseverance, creativity, and consistency in carving out a niche in their chosen trade.
Meanwhile, Ms. Liza Gabatan, Entrepreneural Division Head, underscored the Provincial Government’s continued thrust in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship across Cavite’s towns and cities. She expressed optimism that the beneficiaries would not only uplift their families through livelihood but also contribute to the province’s growing reputation as a hub for quality local products.
The activity served not only as a ceremonial awarding of starter kits but also as a celebration of the trainees’ hard work and determination in completing their training. It reaffirmed OPCDO’s vital role in equipping Caviteños with both the skills and resources necessary to build self-reliance and achieve economic empowerment. (OPIO)
