The Office of the Provincial Governor provided financial assistance to 90 patients with existing medical conditions identified through newborn screening in a simple distribution activity held at the Cavite Collaboration Center for Public Health on November 19, 2024
The event, organized by the Office of the Provincial Health Officer and the Newborn Screening Continuity Clinic-Cavite, in collaboration with the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development,
aimed to support families in addressing the medical needs of their children.
During the program, the Provincial Health Officer highlighted the Newborn Screening Program’s vital role in ensuring that every child born have access to the procedure that will determine medical conditions present at birth which will guide their parents and families with the proper care or treatment for them to live healthy, normal lives. A representative from the Department of Health Region 4A commended Cavite’s proactive approach to supporting the medical management of these patients through financial aid.
The Newborn Screening Continuity Clinic team emphasized that the assistance provided must be utilized strictly for the treatment and care of the patients. Meanwhile, the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development reassured attendees of the Governor’s unwavering commitment to sustaining support for the program and enhancing the quality of life for the beneficiaries.
